It’s a pretty busy travel schedule but its also very exciting. As you saw there are some openings, but obviously that can and will change as time goes on. Looking at January's departure to Pira Lodge in northern Argentina- in my opinion, Argentina offers the best Golden Dorado fishing and the Ibera Marsh is at the top of the list. This past January our group boated one hundred and eleven dorado the first day out. Following Pira I will be at Jetu’u lodge again in Northern Argentina in another marsh and fishing for Golden Dorado. This is a small but very comfortable lodge with excellent fishing.
If it appears that I have an affection for Golden Dorado, your right. Its an explosive fish that will test your tackle jumps and runs and never gives. It will leave any peacock bass sitting in the dust. Both lodges are great both have great guides, boats and food and keep in mind, it’s a great getaway from our cold January temperatures. There are a few openings so please call Hank Ingram at Frontiers. More than anyone else Hank knows Argentina and I am very lucky to have Hank not only as a friend but as my South America coordinator...
You probably also noticed that I only host one saltwater destination a year. That will change with the addition of a February 2026 tarpon trip to Puerto Rico . But with my schedule as busy as it is I decided to just do one saltwater trip this year so I picked what I feel is the best of the best. Turneffe Flats Lodge in Belize is world famous for its shallow water flats fishing. It is a destination that you can get shots at permit on a daily basis. And if your as lucky as my friend Rex Dryer you can land a grand slam or like Millie Elgaway, land a beautiful permit pushing twenty pounds. There are probably more legitimate slams caught here than anywhere else that I know of. My November trip has some openings at this time. Great lodge, guides and boats- join me by calling my trip coordinator Joe Linscott at Frontiers.
Here at home I have been guiding but the weather is up and down as is Fishing Creek. Still a number of friends have landed some big fish. Would love to have you join me on a departure and always happy to discuss any that might interest you. My trips focus on the fishing but they are so much more. The environment, the culture, the relationships we develop with both the guides and other guests, make it more than just a fishing trip. As always thanks for checking in and I hope to hear from you soon!
