Argentina,
Pira & Suinda Lodges
January 8-15, 2022
This is a unique departure combining two golden dorado lodges in northern Argentina. First is Pira Lodge for 3 days of fishing the famous gently meandering Ibera Marsh from comfortable Hell's Bay skiffs and supremely comfortable accommodations. We'll follow Pira with Suinda Lodge, on the upper Parana River, also in the Corrientes region.
Pira has tropical old-world charm, 5 high-ceiling double rooms with private baths and air conditioning along an open corridor. The main lodge faces the swimming pool and offers superb Argentina cuisine and fine wines. The 3 million acre Ibera Marsh is similar to the U.S. Everglades and offers exceptional birding as well. 7-weight rods and floating lines are ideal here.
Suinda offers newly a constructed riverfront lodge. Four bedrooms accommodate up to eight guests in air conditioned suites. Here guides use custom 21-foot Marsopa bay boats with 150 4-strokes, fore and aft casting decks and poling platforms to better access the larger river and allowing two anglers to cast at the same time to pacu and dorado. Recommended are 8 & 9-weight rods with floating lines and tropical sink-tips for the heavier rods.
A 2022 itinerary is not yet available, but we offer the 2021 edition. We have reversed the lodges for 2022, and with the exception of dates and a slight price adjustment, the itinerary accurately describes the trip.
We fell in love with these two lodges in 2020, before the pandemic, and are anxious to return. Please contact us if you're interested in this departure.
