Estancia de los Rios, Chile 2018

January 11 – 21, 2018

Estancia de los Rios is located inside a massive private ranch encompassing 360,000 acres. In square miles it is larger than New York City. Inside the borders of this ranch you have miles of the upper Rio Cisnes River to explore and fish for resident brown trout. From its tiny headwaters and feeder streams, to its lower stretches, you will find these trout living and feeding in this remote and pristine environment. In the next valley over, still on the ranch of course, you can fish the trout filled Magdalena spring creek or opt to try one of the ranch's many lakes for a shot at a monster brown, very likely on a dry fly.

So, what do we like about Chile – other than what we've already said? For us, it's the rugged beauty of the Andes. Located on the eastern side and extending like a thumb toward Argentina, the Estancia enjoys a drier climate than areas to the west and closer to the coast. With few inhabitants near the lodge you might swear that you've been transported back in time to Montana or Colorado if it weren't for the passing gaucho and his dogs on their way to tend his sheep.

Our host, Marcelo Dufflocq, has spent 20 summers at the ranch developing the fishing program and the lodge experience. He has hired a group of Chilean guides who know where the trout are on the ranch and are anxious for you to catch them. He and his staff are eager to please and to make your lodge stay memorable.

7 nights/6 days fishing. Please refer to the itinerary for detailed information on pricing, inclusions and exclusions. Come along with us to visit this new and exciting destination.
