East Africa Game Viewing/Photo Safari
July 28-August 11, 2017
Join Barry & Cathy Beck on an exclusive Frontiers hosted safari in East Africa, offering a superb combination of game viewing and safari camps in Kenya and Tanzania.
We have carefully designed this itinerary to include four of the best camps in East Africa- Kenya's Kichwa Tembo Masai Mara Tented Camp, Tanzania's Serengeti Under Canvas, Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, and concluding the trip in one of the most architecturally spectacular safari properties in Africa, the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. Each location provides a distinctive African experience providing insight into the unique flora and fauna found in the regions.
Upon arrival in Africa, you will spend a relaxing night in Nairobi before starting your safari at what is known as Kenya's best loved safari camp, Kichwa Tembo. Located in the remote northwestern part of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, breathtaking vistas, abundant wildlife and endless plains will fill your days, not to mention that this area is truly a photographer's and naturalist's paradise.
After flying from Kenya to Tanzania, you will sleep under canvas in a classic tented camp at Serengeti Under Canvas. This luxurious tented camp moves around the park year round, bringing you within reach of the Great Migration and exploring remote, beautiful corners of the Serengeti. It is the migration for which the Serengeti is perhaps most famous. The annual movement of over one and a half million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras and 500,000 Thomson's gazelle flow from the northern hills to the southern plains for short rains, and then west and north after the long rains in the spring. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back.
Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only lodge in the National Park offering a wilderness experience in diverse habitats, from its Rift Valley Soda Lake to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides. Lake Manyara National Park is famous for its spectacular setting and its unusual tree-climbing lions.
Your last stop will be the lavish Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. Located on the rim of the largest intact caldera in the world, the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens anywhere. A permanent population of more than 20,000 animals inhabits a mere 100 square miles in the 200 feet deep crater, making this one of the few places where you have a chance to see the entire Big Five in the course of a single game drive.
Please note that this departure is limited to 12 clients based on double occupancy accommodations. Please see itinerary for complete details and additional information.
