Guiding on Fishing Creek
Our home stream, Fishing Creek, in northeastern Pennsylvania, is a lovely freestone trout stream that offers some incredible fiy fishing opportunities. We have managed private water on Fishing Creek for 30 years. This management has resulted in some of the best trout fishing found in the northeast.
Our water has not been stocked in many years and boasts a healthy population of big fish – you'll be surprised at the number, size and condition of the fish. The originally stocked fish are now as wary and selective as the wild fish and just as beautiful from living in Fishing Creek.
The managed water is strictly catch and release, no-kill, and carefully regulated to assure anglers of a quality experience on one of the coldest freestone trout streams in Pennsylvania. As with all freestone streams, our best fishing is April, May, June & October.
Our guides are also instructors and have worked with us for many years. They are professionals and are very good at what they do. Whether you're a novice or experienced, you will benefit from spending a guided day on our stream.
When working with a novice, our guides will explain why they chose a particular fly, what they are doing to the leader, where you will want to position yourself for casting, they are happy to teach knots, and teach you about the fish. They will be your tutor for the day. The experienced angler can have as much or as little assistance as needed.
If possible, we suggest coming on a weekday as there will be fewer anglers on the stream and our guides can show you more water, but more importantly come whenever you can. We're quite sure you'll be impressed with the stream and the fish.
Guided fishing days are from 9:00 to 5:30. Lunch is included. $250 for one person, $350 for two. Independent fishing can be arranged for the evening if desired, at no extra cost.
